After teaching high-school science for 10 years, Mary's career took an unexpected turn when her son, Joseph, developed an intense interest in animals. So, Mary learned as much as she could about animals to teach him. When Joseph was in first grade, she talked to his class about endangered animals. Then, all 14 first-grade teachers asked Mary to talk to their classes. This was the start of her new career!
Mary loves teaching about animals and the rainforests. It is a fun and motivating way to learn science principles.
In her free time, she enjoys her family and her two beagles. Also, she enjoys her butterfly garden, bird watching and hiking.
